Carle Ranked Fourth among Goaltenders in Save Percentage

Congratulations to Julia Carle on her tremendous start to the hockey season. Through four games Julia has allowed only three goals against 107 shots, achieving a save percentage of .972.

 

Unbeaten Saints Earn their Fourth Consecutive Victory

The Minnehaha Saints improved to 4-0 following Tuesday's victory over Saint Francis/North Branch and Friday's victory over Faribault.

Tuesday's game featured an exciting 2-1 battle between the Minnehaha Saints and the Saints of Saint Francis/North Branch. Minnehaha goaltender Julia Carle stopped 21 of 22 shots, holding Saint Francis to one goal. Minnehaha's offense came from senior defenseman Terry Fors and sophomore forward Sam Mullinix, who each netted their first goals of the season to lead the Saints to victory. Earning Tuesday's Hard Hat Award for her outstanding defensive play was sophomore center Rachel McNamara. Tallying assists in that game were freshman Molly Houghton, eighth grader Saakje Hoekstra and senior Mara Raymond.

The Saints followed up Tuesday's effort with a 3-1 victory over Faribault in day one of the Holiday Showcase hosted by Saint Paul United. Goaltending prowess was on display once again, as Julia Carle tallied 22 saves against 23 shots. Leading the Saints' offensively were Molly Houghton, who scored her first goal of the season; Terry Fors, who notched her second goal in two games; and sophomore Sarah Lynn, who netted her team-leading third goal of the season. Senior defenseman Sara Lind tallied two assists in the game, earning her the team's Hard Hat Award. Also tallying assists were Jennifer Bazzachini and Mara Raymond.

Saints Improve to 2-0

The Saints improved their record to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Moose Lake/Willow River. Freshman goaltender Julia Carle earned her first shutout of the season, stopping 24 shots and improving her overall save percentage to .984. Senior Sara Lind scored her first goal of the season, and sophomore Sarah Lynn notched her second of the year. They share the lead in scoring for the Saints after two games with 2 points each. Adding a nifty assist to Sarah Lynn's goal was Senior Jennifer Bazzachini. Also tallying assists in the game were senior Mara Raymond and sophomore Elleni Oberle. The Saints look to continue their winning streak tonight in a home game against Saint Francis/North Branch.
