2008 JUNIOR FESTIVAL
The Junior Festival is an annual MGHCA event held during the first week of summer vacation (which is generally the second week of June). It was created as a spin off from the Senior Classic at the request of college coaches who wanted to see our kids before their Senior year when they are still uncommitted as opposed to after their Senior year when many have already made plans.
College coaches from around the country are invited to come and spend a couple of days watching the best of our kids play against each other. This past Junior Festival drew 48 college coaches from 34 different schools. Of those coaches, 24 of them were Division I coaches representing 20 different Division I programs.
As far as recruiting goes, this is one of the top Festivals in the Nation. College coaches know when they come to watch, that every player on the ice is eligible to be recruited. They get to see some of the best players in the nation go head to head without play being clouded by older or younger players. Players could not ask for a better showcase event.

MGHCA Freshman/Sophomore Development Camp
Goals:
· Provide players with information, tools, programs, ideas etc. that they can take with them and work on their own during the off-season and throughout the season.
· Allow players to see where they rank with others in the state at a young enough age so that if they dreams of playing at higher levels, they know how far they need to go.
· Give players a taste of what it is like to train at the high, intense level that they will encounter if they choose to move on to the collegiate level or beyond.
· Give players who may not be on teams that are rich in talent an opportunity to work and train with other players of equal talent.
Development Camp:
· Those players making the camp spend a week (Sunday night thru Friday) at Breezy Point.
· The camp is very hockey intensive. It is not intended to be a summer camp; this is a development camp. Players train all day.
