WHS Releases Honor Roll

Willmar High School has released its first term honor roll and several girls hockey players again made the list.  Willmar is currently the 3 time defending State Academic Champion for Girls Hockey.  The players making the honor roll include:

Seniors:  Madison Sandberg***, Liz Gorans**, Brooke Mayer**, Brittney Serbus**, Lauren Sing**, Samantha Block

Sophomores:  Amelia Amon***, Allison Freese***, Carly Derouin**, Peyton Setrum**, Shelby Schneider**, Kaylee Chester, Anne Johnston, Ellissa Weiler

Freshmen:  Kierra Miller**, Jordan Sankey** 

8th Grade:  Riley Schneider*, Brooke Oveson**

Schneider Named CLC Player of the Week

Shelby Schneider has been named the Central Lakes Conference Player of the Week for the week of December 24th.  She scored 5 goals and had 3 assists last week highlighted by a hat trick and assist against Mankato East.

Sandberg Named CLC Player of the Week

Madison Sandberg has been named the Central Lakes Conference Player of the Week for the week of December 10th.  She posted at 94% save percentage for the previous week, highlighted by a 29 save shutout win versus Cambridge/Isanti.

Johnston Named Athlete of the Week

Annie Johnston was named the West Central Tribune/ACMC Athlete of the Week for the week of December 7.  Annie had a goal and an assist contributing to the teams 6-1 win over Hutchinson and had the only goal in a 1-0 win over Cambridge-Isanti.

Sandberg Named Athlete of the Week

Madison Sandberg was named the West Central Tribune/ACMC Athlete of the Week for the week of November 26th.  She has started the season well this year posting a 93% save percentage and 2.2 GAA while leading her team to a 5-2 start.  Sandberg is a senior captain for the Cardinals.
