The U-10B team came to pump the high school team up at Friday's game against New Prague. Their mentors Haley Doll and Bria Donnelly welcomed them as they came onto the ice to be recognized. The youth team's efforts were rewarded with a 3-1 victory over the Trojans on Friday. This was a big win for the Tigers especially since they lost the first match up 2-0.
Throughout the year the FHS Girls Hockey team goes to combat against their own. Four in house teams were drafted at the beginning of the year and they all seek the coveted "Farmington CUP" (to be determined).
On any set Friday the girls will play in house scrimmages of 4-4 while sporting their NHL team jersey's. While this is great fun for all involved it also gives the girls a chance to showcase their talents to earn coveted varsity playing time.
The Farmington Girls Hockey Team has become mentors to each of the youth teams in the U-12 and under categories. Their roles are to give back to a program that has given them so much throughout their life. They will bring a fun attitude and hopefully some great lessons on how hockey and other team sports can be directly applicable to life situations.
The first night of recognizing the youth teams was on November 22nd where the U-8's led the charge into Schmitz-Maki arena and were welcomed to the ice between periods by the FHS Girls Hockey players, the FHS Pep Band, and a group of appropriately behaved, but yet rowdy high school fans! The barn was full Tuesday night!
