2024 SENIOR CLASSIC - MARCH 1-3, 2024
SUPER RINK, BLAINE , MN
SENIOR CLASSIC HISTORY
Welcome to the 2024 Senior Classic webpage. This event celebrating the careers of our best female high school players is now in its 26th year. The Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association along with the support of MN Hockey organized the first event in what was then called the Maroon & Gold Series in 1999. This first event had 40 of the state’s best players in a two game series played at the Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine. In 2002 the event grew to four teams with 68 seniors participating. And finally in 2008, the event was expanded to eight teams with 136 players participating in the tournament. The purpose of this showcase tournament is to give the best senior players in the state an opportunity to compete with the state’s other best players and also to give many players a final chance to be scouted by some of the top D1 and D3 colleges in the area. Many past participants have gone on to play college hockey as a result in their participation in this event. We hope you enjoy this year’s tournament and that you help us to celebrate the careers of these outstanding young women who are representing their schools and sections.
And best of all, there is NO gate fee for parents, family, relatives and friends to come and watch our best female athletes showcase their hockey skills at one of the premier high school events in the country.
