Red Wing was awarded the top seed in the Section 1A tournament and earned a first-round bye. The Wingers will play host to either No. 4 Albert Lea or No. 5 New Prague in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Feb. 15.

Red Wing is 3-0 combined against the Tigers and Trojans this season. The Wingers won 2-1 in overtime at Albert Lea on Dec. 18. They also defeated New Prague 4-1 Thursday to sweep the season series.

Albert Lea plays host to New Prague in the quarterfinals Friday.

The remaining teams were seeded as follows on Sunday: No. 2 Northfield, No. 3 Faribault, No. 6 Austin and No. 7 Waseca.

Faribault is the defending section champion.
