Defending state champion Warroad, ranked No. 1 in Minnesota state Class 1A, scored two power play goals in the opening eight minutes en route to a comfortable 9-0 victory over East Grand Forks Senior High in the semifinals of the Section 8 playoffs Monday night at the Crookston Sports Center.
Karley Sylvester, who has committed to play college hockey at Wisconsin, scored four goals and added two assists. Sylvester scored power-play goals at 5:26 and 7:10 of the first period to set the tone.
Warroad will take on Crookston for the section title at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Crookston Sports Center.
