Another dominating peformance against a conference foe

The Red Knights kept their perfect conference record intact with their 9th shutout of the season defeating Cooper 11-0.  The game was never in doubt, although Cooper's goalie, Angel Hillstrom, played a valiant game and kept BSM off the scoreboard in the first period despite facing 26 shots in the period.

The Red Knights broke the scoreless game early in the second period on Kelly Pannek's shorthanded goal from Sara Taffe.  This was the first of 3 goals on the night for Pannek, raising her team leading total to 23.  Brittany Wheeler scored 5 minutes later, with the assist going to Caitlin Reilly.  Ali Praus notched her 5th goal of the season at 11:11 of the period from Kaylee Druk and Jackie Pieper.  Two minutes later, Laura Minkoff scored her first Varsity goal from a shot from the point from a pass from Lyndsay Oden (her first of 2 assists on the night).  The final goal of the period went to Jordyn Burns, her 10th goal of the season, with the assists going to Brittany Wheeler and Caitlin Reilly.

Reilly and Wheeler combined again on assisting on the first 2 goals of the third period, with linemate Kelly Pannek scoring both goals.  Reilly had 4 assists in the game and Wheeler chipped in with 3 assists of her own.  Ali Praus later added a shorthanded unassisted goal (her second of the game and 6th of the season).  The Red Knights added 3 goals in the final 2 minutes of the game by Sara Taffe (4th goal of the season), McKenzie Swenson (3rd goal of the season), and Bailey Forcier (3rd goal of the season).  Assists on these goals went to Anne Arnason, Lyndsay Oden, and Alexi Press.

Shots for the game were 64-3.  This was the 3rd time this season the Red Knights surpassed the 60 shot mark.  Abbey Miller earned her 5th victory in 5 Varsity starts.  BSM will next face 14-6 Hill-Murray on Saturday night.
