NORTHFIELD — Senior Aimee Goodew scored with four minutes, 30 seconds left in the game to give the Owatonna girls hockey team a nonconference win.

Owatonna defeated Northfield 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.

OHS ninth-grader Abby Sawyer scored her first career goal, and Cailyn McCauley scored the other goal for the Huskies (5-2).

After McCauley scored to put Owatonna up 2-1, the Raiders answered 23 seconds later to knot the score at 2-2.

Mallorie Dietz started in goal and picked up the win with 10 saves. Dietz got the start because senior Keshia Reuvers was scheduled to take the ACT Saturday. Reuvers ended up not taking the test, but OHS coach Tim Hunst kept Dietz between the pipes.

OHS scoring: First period — 1, Abby Sawyer (Cailyn McCauley, Payton Noble) 7:37. Second period — 2, McCauley (Sawyer) 12:44 (pp). Third period — 3, Aimee Goodew (Paige Lysne) 12:30. Owatonna goalie: Mallorie Dietz (10 saves).
