The Red Knights advanced to the championship game of the Cake Eater tournament with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Breck.  BSM outshot Breck 17-7 in the opening period, but was only able to get one shot by Breck netminder Taylor Nelson.  Kelly Pannek scored her 3rd goal of the season at 5:06 of the first period, with assists going to Anne Arnason and Brittany Wheeler.  Breck was able to tie the score in the second period, setting up a dramatic third period with the teams tied at 1.  The Red Knights went ahead just 1:42 into the third period on Brittany Wheeler's team leading 5th goal of the season, from feeds from Sara Taffe and Kaylee Druk.  Breck answered back about 3 minutes later.  Despite BSM outshooting Breck 15-7 in the period, the game went to overtime tied at 2.  In the overtime, both teams had opportunities to score, and Ali Praus picked a great time to score her first goal of the season from Brittany Wheeler with just 9 seconds left in overtime for the game winner.  Tiana Press stopped 24 of 26 shots.  BSM had 44 shots for the game.  The Red Knights will play Blake for the championship of the Cake Eater tournament at 8:00pm on Saturday night.
