HOPKINS — The No. 3-ranked Blake Bears girls hockey team stayed perfect on the young season and perfect all-time against Owatonna.

The Bears defeated the Huskies 5-1 on Saturday night in nonconference action at The Blake School. Blake has defeated Owatonna every time the two teams have played the last decade.

Owatonna stayed with Blake for first nine minutes of the game, but three goals in three minutes gave the Bears a 3-0 lead with 5 minutes, 14 seconds left in the first period. The Bears added a goal in the second and third period.

Owatonna ninth-grader Payton Noble scored her second goal of the season. She scored an unassisted goal with 6:47 left in the game.

Dani Cameranesi had two goals for Blake, which has beaten the Huskies 11 straight seasons.

Owatonna senior goalie Keshia Ruevers went the whole way in the loss.

The game ended a strong week for the Huskies, who defeated Rochester Mayo and Champlin Park this week. Owatonna (1-0 Big Nine, 2-1 overall) will take Thanksgiving week off and play New Ulm on Nov. 30 at the Four Seasons Centre.
