Kelly Pannek's 3 point night leads Red Knights

Although the Red Knights controlled play for most of the game, it took a 4 goal third period outburst to put away the Trojans 6-3.  BSM scored the first goal of the game at 8:51 of the first period on a shot from Cat Kernan, assisted by Anne Arnason.  The Red Knights increased their lead 8:25 into the second period on a goal from Caitlin Reilly.  Kaylee Druk had the assist.  BSM appeared to be in complete control of the game at this point and it seemed that they might coast to an easy victory.  Wayzata had other ideas scoring 2 goals near the end of the period, one on the power play and the tying goal less than a minute and a half later shorthanded.  The second period ended tied at 2.  Wayzata came out fast in the third period, scoring just 50 seconds into the period to take a 3-2 lead.  The Red Knights seemed to come to life after this goal, as Kelly Pannek scored 2 consecutive goals to put BSM ahead to stay.  The second goal was assisted by Brittany Wheeler.  The Red Knights added 2 power play goals later in the period by Jordan Burns, with an assist on her first goal by Kelly Pannek.  Tiana Press stopped 12 of 15 shots to earn the victory.  The Red Knights outshot Wayzata 42-15 for the game. Next up for BSM is Breck in the Cake Eater Tournament on Friday night at Braemar at 6:00pm.
