The Red Knights lost their home opener to the #3 ranked Edina Hornets 3-2. BSM went on top in the first period with a power play goal by Jordyn Burns. Edina tied it in the second period. The Hornets went ahead 2-1 early in the third period. Freshman Brittany Wheeler responded two minutes later scoring her first Red Knight goal to tie the score. The heart breaker came when Edina scored the game winner with just 5 seconds left to play. Tiana Press played well in net stopping 31 of 34 Edina shots. The Red Knights played a strong game and with eight freshmen on the team, BSM will be looking forward to an exciting season.
