No Dice...

No Goal

The Lumberjacks were bested by (in my opinion) the finest team on Minnesota ice this year in the Warroad Warriors. It was a tough battle wire to wire with Warroad taking a 1 to 0 lead going into the final stanza. They also scored an early PP goal in the 3rd with their first two coming directly from their powerplay efforts. The Jacks came back with what appeared "pictured right" to the team and crowd as a goal to climb with in one in the middle of the third but no dice from the refs or the goal judge. A few shifts later 2 Bemidji girls skated by a loose and mishandled puck from the Warroad goalie which could have knotted up the score, but as it does in hockey the missed opportunity lead directly to the Warriors 3rd goal with only 2 minutes left on the clock. Finally, with 12 ticks they slammed the door to make it 4. Much of the game was played on special teams which greatly benefitted the highly skilled home team. They both totaled 54 minutes of crime time when it was all said and done. Warroad proved that they deserve the Title as being the "best".

Bemdji travels to Brainerd tomorrow to play the "other" Warriors of the Flying variety... game starts at 3 pm weather permitting.

Go Jacks!
