But the Wingers made sure to get back to their winning ways the day before with a 5-0 Missota Conference victory over Farmington.

Nicole Schammel scored four goals and assisted on another as Red Wing controlled the game from start to finish.

Schammel’s first tally came on the power play 13 minutes into the game. Emily Stegora and Reagan Haley got the assists as the Wingers took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Haley opened the scoring in the second with her own power-play goal, coming on a feed from Schammel at 6:30. Then, at 10:04, Schammel put Red Wing up 3-0 as Haley returned the favor with her second assist.

Haley, who finished with five points, and Maddy Hardyman assisted Schammel’s two third-period goals.

Ashley Corcoran made 22 saves to earn the win in net, her fifth shutout of the season. The Wingers threw 31 shots on Molly Singewald, who made 26 saves.

Red Wing (8-2-0 overall, 3-1-0 Missota) will play its fourth-straight road game Thursday at eighth-ranked Orono (7-4-0, 2-0-0 Wright County). The Wingers, ranked third this week, will return to Prairie Island Arena Saturday to face No. 11 Breck (4-10-1, 1-1-1 Tri-Metro).
