2013 HOF Banquet Highlights

Laura Halldorson keynote speaker for inaugural MGHCA awards dinner.

The MGHCA held it's first Hall of Fame awards banquet at the Schwan Center in Blaine, MN. The dinner was highlighted by the induction of the first MGHCA Hall of Fame class. Receiving Hall of Fame awards were grils hockey pioneer Dr. Bob May; long time women and girls hockey supporter Jane Ring; Ex St. Paul United coach Charlie Stryker; three time state champion coach of The Blake School Brano Stankovsky; long time Apple Valley coach Chuck Scanlon, longest tenured girls high school hockey coach in Minnesota Dave Palmquist; two-time state championship coach and 17 year MGHCA board volunteer Tim Morris; and finally coach and program director for many MGHCA programs and current Hopkins assistant coach Tom Maeckelbergh.

Bill Halbrehder, the HOF committee chair, emceed the event. Current MGHCA President Ray Dahlof presented awards and Laura Halldorson, former University of Minnesota Womens Head Coach was the keynote speaker for the evening.
