Pirates take a nonconference victory with a score of 4-0 W

Crookston- With a sluggish start to the game the Pirates squeak out a victory against the Fargo North Spartans four to zero.

The Pirates came out very flat against the Spartans scoring only one goal in the first period and putting only nine shots on Fargo North goaltender Olivia Pladson (Sr., Goalie). Pirate goaltender Lexie Cormican (8th grade., Goalie) kept the Pirates in the game by stopping fourteen shots that the Spartans had taken on her. The Pirates are back above .500 with an overall record of (11-10-0) and are now on a two game winning streak heading into Thursday’s game.

Next for the Pirates will be Section 8A rivalry the East Grand Forks Greenwave at the Civic Center in East Grand Forks. This game again will be the battle for the number three seed going into the Section 8A postseason and whoever loses will of course get the number four seed but both teams will have home ice advantage.

Notes:

The Pirates were lead by Brianna Breiland (Sr., Forward) who had two goals and one assists. Also scoring for the Pirates were Sabrina Delmore (Fresh., Defense) who had one goal and no assists and Lizzy Awender (Jr., Forward) who had one goal and no assists.

The Spartans were lead by Olivia Pladson (Sr., Goalie) who had thirty-three saves and stopped thirty-seven shots for the Spartans.
