Logan Knip posts 5th shutout of the season in victory

Before the game with St. Louis Park, the senior class was honored by their teammates.  The 5 graduating seniors are:  Molly Adam, Kristen Dellich, Abby Huber, Taylor Peterson, and team manager Kevin Johnson.  The 4 players were further honored by being introduced to start the contest.

As was the case in the first meeting this season between the 2 teams, the game did not have a very steady flow as this match provided the coaches with the opportunity to play some Varsity players that typically do not get a lot of ice time.

The Eagles scored the only goal of the first period on a passing play from Laura Minkoff to Brigitta Zosel to Kristen Dellich, who notched her team leading 13th goal of the season.  The assist by Brigitta was her 1st Varsity point and for Laura, it was her team leading 14th assist.

T-G got off to a very fast start in the second period as Allison Parnell won the opening draw and moved the puck to Claire Hill who passed it to Abby Huber who found Maddy Javorina to put the Eagles ahead 2-0 just 10 seconds into the period.  As it turned out, this was the only goal in the middle frame.  Despite the Orioles outshooting T-G, 16-12 through 2 periods, they found themselves down by 2 going into the second intermission.

The Eagles controlled play throughout the final 17 minutes.  The last goal of the gane was scored on Laura Minkoff’s slapshot at the 7:41 mark to put T-G up 3-0.  The assists went to Kristen Dellich and Amelia Vosen.  Shots for the game were 22-21 in favor of the Eagles.  The victory improved T-G's overall record to 10-8-4 and 5-3-1 in conference play.

The Eagles will next take on Spring Lake Park on Saturday at 7:30pm at Fogerty Ice Arena.  This is T-G's final road game of the regular season.
