The Benilde St. Margaret's Red Knights showed tonight why they are ranked #2 in the state. BSM outshot the Eagles 61-7 in route to a 9-0 victory. Logan Knip had 52 saves for T-G in the loss, the second most saves in a game in school history. The school record is 54 saves held by both current Eagles goalie coach Brittany Fussy and Missy King.
The Red Knights got off to a fast start scoring 5 goals in the first 5:46 of the first period and never looked back. The highlight for the Eagles in the contest was their successfully killing a 5 minute major penalty for the final 4:45 of the second period and finishing off the penalty kill to start the third period. BSM added 4 more goals in the final period to complete the scoring. Kelly Pannek lead the way for the Red Knights with 3 goals and 3 assists.
T-G will next host Chisago Lakes at Parade Ice Garden on Saturday night at 7:30pm. The Wildcats are coming in having defeated Irondale 5-3 in their last game and posting a 4-1-0 conference record.
