Crookston- The Pirates take their first sweep against Section 8A Park Rapids Area Panthers with a score of two to zero.

The Pirates were lead by Brianna Breiland (Sr., Forward) and Amber Trostad (Jr., Forward) both girls had one goal and no assists for the Pirates. The Pirates were also lead by Lexie Cormican (8^th grade., Goalie) who had her first ever high school shut out against the Panthers tonight.

The Panthers were lead by their Junior goaltender Shania Johnson (Jr., Goalie) who stopped fifty-seven shots and only let to goals in.

The Pirates played well after coming off a tough loss to Section 8AA opponent the Roseau Rams on Thursday night but came out and come out firing on the Panthers with fifty-seven shots on net but only scoring two goals against Section 8A opponent Park Rapids Area Panthers. The Pirates now go to 8-7-0 on the season just above .500.

The Pirates next opponent will be against the defending Section 8A champions and State A Champions the Warroad Warrior on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Crookston Sports Center. The puck will drop at 7:30pm.
