Moorhead- The Pirates traveled down Highway 75 for a Greater Minnesota Conference game against the Moorhead Spuds. The Pirates drop their fourth Greater Minnesota Conference game against the Spuds five to one.

The Pirates were lead by Brooke Schmitz (Jr., Forward) who had the only goal for the Pirates and she was assisted by Brianna Breiland (Sr., Forward). The Moorhead Spuds were lead by Tori Davis (Jr., Forward) who had two goals and one assist. Jenna Ulberg (Sr., Forward), Taylor O’Connell (Soph., Forward), and Missy Setter (Sr., Forward) all had one goal to help the Spuds beat the Pirates five to one.

The Pirates went on the road for their last road game for the 2012 year and took on the Moorhead Spuds in Moorhead, MN. The Pirates founded out that the Spuds were another good skating and passing team and they handled the puck well and put a lot of shots on goal. The shots for both teams were close but Moorhead came out with thirty-one shots on five goals and the Pirates had twenty-six shots on one goal in the game. The game was an exciting game to watch as the Pirates came out in the second period and played well and put up more shots against a good Moorhead team that will do well in Section 8AA this season.

The Pirates will return home to play a Section 8A against their rival school the East Grand Forks Greenwave at the Crookston Sports Center at 5:30pm. The game will be at 5:30pm due to the boys hockey team playing the Greenwave also at 7:30pm.
