T-G complete team effort results in 8-2 victory

Trying to pick out one star of this game was impossible.  Nine different players got into the scoring column.  How can you pick just one player from the line of Kristen Dellich (3 goals, 2 assists), Maddy Javorina (2 goals, 1 assist), Molly Adam (1 assist); or from forwards Laura Minkoff (2 goals), Allison Parnell (1 assist), Catherine Hegedus (1 assist); or from defensemen Katessa Archer (1 goal), Taylor Peterson (2 assists) or Marie Sedesky (1 assist).  This was the most complete game played by the Eagles this season, and their puck movement was fast and crisp all night long.

T-G came out determined and focused.  Kristen Dellich opened the scoring putting in a rebound from Marie Sedesky's shot to put the Eagles ahead 1-0 just 1:09 into the contest.  Right after T-G successfully killed off a penalty, Minnehaha answered back at the 13:04 mark to tie the game at one.  The Eagles regained the lead on Maddy Javorina's first goal of the season, with the assists going to her line mates Kristen Dellich and Molly Adam.  T-G enjoyed a 15-6 shot advantage and took a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

The second period started just as strong for the Eagles.  Kristen Dellich kicked off the scoring again 2:13 into the period.  Sarah Lynn scored her second goal of the game for the Redhawks just 7 seconds later to cut the T-G lead to 3-2. It took just 32 seconds for the Eagles to increase their lead back to 2 goals when Laura Minkoff put in her own rebound.  A minute and a half later, Katessa Archer fired a rising shot from a feed from Catherine Hegedus that beat Minnehaha goaltender Julia Carle to open a 5-2 lead.  With 4:19 remaining, Kristen Dellich sent a beautiful crossing pass to Maddy Javorina who buried the puck in the back of the net for her second goal of the game to give T-G a 6-2 advantage.  About a minute later, Logan Knip made a dazzling save on a 2 on 1 to preserve the lead.

The Eagles were not satisfied to just sit on the lead in the 3rd period.  Maddy Javorina returned the favor of her previous goal sending a great pass over to Kristen Dellich to complete her hat trick and increase the T-G lead to 7-2.  Taylor Peterson also had an assist on the play notching her first Varsity point.  The Eagles added a late goal from Laura Minkoff, her second of the game, coming from Allison Parnell and Taylor Peterson to complete the scoring.  T-G outshot the Redhawks 37-16 for the contest, Goaltender Alex Proulx saw her first Varsity action playing the last 5 minutes of the game.

The Eagles will open North Suburban Conference play when they take on Chisago Lakes in Lindstrom on Friday night at 7:45pm.
