Molly Adam and Maddy Javorina lead the way with 3 points each

With Abby Huber out of action due to an injury, the coaches shuffled the forward lines and found a winning combination.  The line of Kristen Dellich, Molly Adam and Maddy Javorina accounted for 2 goals and 6 assists as T-G defeated Mahtomedi 3-1.  The game was a home game for the Eagles, but was played at T-G's "second home" being Northeast Ice Arena.

The Eagles jumped out on top on the very first shift of the game as Molly Adam and Maddy Javorina found Claire Hill at the point, who skated in and fired a shot into the top corner of the net for her first Varsity goal.  T-G seemed to relax following this goal as Mahtomedi started to press the attack for most of the rest of the period.  Their persistence paid off as the Zephyrs tied the game with just 55 seconds remaining in the period.  Shots in the period were 9-3 in favor of Mahtomedi.

The second period saw both teams going back and forth trading scoring opportunities.  At the 11:58 mark of the period, Maddy Javorina and Kristen Dellich teamed up and Molly Adam put the Eagles ahead to stay.  This would be the only goal of the period.  Although T-G had been outshot through 2 periods, they held a 2-1 lead going into the final frame.

Midway through the 3rd period, the Zephyrs were whistled for roughing, putting the Eagles on the powerplay.  T-G wasted little time, scoring just 5 seconds after having the player advantage.  It was Molly and Maddy setting up Kristen for the goal.  For Kristen, it was her team tying 5th goal of the season.  Logan Knip was very solid in net, stopping 26 of 27 shots for T-G.  The Eagles evened their record for the season to 3-3-1.

T-G will next host Minnehaha on Thursday at their "regular" home at Parade Ice Garden at 5:00pm.  This is an earlier than normal game time since there is not a JV game preceding the Varsity game.
