Wildcats remain unbeaten on the season

The Eagles hosted their second consecutive unbeaten team and again, the visitors left the Ice Garden with their record unblemished.  Dodge County put on a dominating performance, outshooting T-G 50-13 for the contest in route to a 4-1 victory.

The Wildcats controlled much of the first period.  They were aided by a questionable 5 minute major penalty called on T-G at the 11:45 mark.  The Eagles killed off nearly 4 minutes of it before Dodge County finally scored, giving them a 1-0 lead.  Despite being outshot 16-3 for the period, T-G was fortunate to only be down 1 goal going into the first intermission.

The Wildcats continued their strong play in the second period.  Eagles goaltender Logan Knip was doing all she could to keep Dodge County from extending their lead.  After a flurry of shots, the Wildcats were able to finally beat Logan on their 3rd rebound at 12:10 of the period.  They added another goal before the end of the period to take a 3-0 lead into the final frame.

T-G came out determined to start the 3rd period.  Abby Huber, Kristen Dellich, and Amelia Vossen created a number of quality scoring chances in the first 4 minutes, but were unable to beat Dodge County goaltender Anna Hunter.  About 2 minutes later, the Wildcats increased their lead to 4-0.  The Eagles continued to play aggressively, which lead to Kristen Dellich intercepting a neutral zone pass and taking it all the way to put T-G on the board with her 4th goal of the season.  There would be no further scoring.  In defeat, Logan Knip had a stellar night in net, racking up 46 saves, 6th most in school history.

T-G will be looking to get back on the winning track as they will next take on Mahtomedi at Northeast Ice Arena at 7:00pm on Tuesday night.
