Brainerd/ Little Falls ( W 7-4) and White Bear Lake (L 0-3)

Crookston- Senior forward Brianna Breiland (Sr., Forward) had four goals and one assist in the game Friday against Brainerd/Little Falls while freshman Defense Tori Demaris (Fr., Defense) had 3 assists to help the Pirates.

The Pirates had a good weekend by taking a split at Brainerd/Little Falls and at home against White Bear Lake. The Pirates were on the road in Brainerd to take on the Flying Warriors where they took a 7-4 victory and had four different players score for the Pirates (Brianna Breiland, Nicole Goosen, Natasha Skala, and Lizzy Awender). The Pirates then took the three hour trip back to Crookston to play White Bear Lake in Crookston on their home ice where the Pirates suffered a 0-3 lost to the White Bear Lake Bears.

The Pirates rotated starting goalies over the weekend with Sidney Erickson (Jr., Goaltender) who had 23 shots on four goals and 19 saves against Brainerd/Little Falls and Lexie Cormican (8th Grade, Goaltender) who took on the White Bear Lake Bears where she had 19 shots on three goals and 17 saves against White Bear Lake.

The Pirates start the first game of the season in Brainerd where they started out on the slow side but as the game went on the Pirates picked up the pace and stunned Brainerd/Little Falls Flying Warriors. Then the Pirates came home to play White Bear Lake were the game started out great and stay at a good pace for the Pirates but the Pirates came out with a 0-3 lost where the Pirates fought hard and made a few mistakes in the game. The Pirates will take those mistakes they made to practice on Monday and work on them before they take on Section 8A opponent the Thief River Falls Prowlers at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls, MN on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.

After this weekend’s split against Brainerd/Little Falls and White Bear Lake the Pirates are overall 1-1-0 and 0-0-0 in Section 8A on the season.
