Locker room guidelines:

1.    The locker room is our “Temple”.   Treat it as a sacred place.  Respect your home.

2.    The MSHSL and Eagan High School will not allow “bullying”.  We as a team and coaching staff will not allow the harassment of others.

3.    Captains will, as part of their responsibility to our team, promote team togetherness.

4.    No cell phones/cameras allowed without coach approval.

5.    While dressing or undressing, male coaches do not want to be present.   Coaches will follow strict protocol went entering locker room.  We will knock and then ask if everyone is decent before entering.

6.    Every team member will respect their teammates and coaches while in the locker room.  We are in this together, LET’S STAY TOGETHER!

Conflict Resolution

A good manager doesn't try to eliminate conflict; he tries to keep it from wasting the energies of his people..

 Robert Townsend quotes

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.

 Margaret Thatcher quotes

From time to time, conflicts arise between coaches, athletes, and parents. When issues arise, it is important that they be addressed immediately, and as directly as possible, allowing all to work together to resolve any conflicts

The following process should be followed:

·      Step one

·      Athlete will contact the head coach with their concerns.  Most issues can be resolved when athletes are their own advocates.  Questions/concerns should be handled via phone or in person.  (Emails and texts can be misinterpreted)

·      Step two

o   Parent may contact coach after step one, by email or phone, requesting a meeting.  Requests for a meeting will never be made just before, during or after a game or a practice session.

o   If an issue arises during a contest please use the 24 hour rule before contacting the coach.

·      Step three

o   If, after steps one and two, a solution has not been achieved, a meeting may be requested with the Athletic Office.  If appropriate, all parties will be scheduled to meet, allowing an opportunity to share perceptions.

By airing concerns, in a respectful process, we can work toward relationships that will continue to help build a positive athletic program for all our athletic families.

Tryouts

You got to be careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there."

- Yogi Berra
BE Prepared.

·        Try outs will begin on Monday, October 29th.  We will have a warm up and then go into a scrimmage format.

·        The tryouts will be closed to parents, friends or any other interested parties.

·        The players will be rated on several obvious traits:

1.    Work ethic & attitude.

2.    Skating ability.

3.    Individual talent.

4.    Hockey sense and/or awareness without the puck.

5.    Knowledge of the game and strategy.

INJURIES

·      If you have been injured prior to tryouts or if you get injured during tryouts you will be given an opportunity to be on the team once you return.  With your help we will get you in the best shape that you normally would be in and then evaluate where you will fit into the squad.
