MGHCA GIRLS U18 FESTIVAL

MARCH 2-4, 2018 SCHWAN'S SUPER RINK, BLAINE, MN

4TH ANNUAL GIRLS U18 FESTIVAL

The U18 Festival is designed to provide players who are completing their Junior seasons and have year 2000 birthdays, an opportunity to participate in a MN Hockey High Performance program. In the past, these players would have had no High Performance program in which they could participate. We are hoping that this program will fulfill that gap in the High Performance hockey structure. Players are invited to the tryout on a first come-first served basis. We will be accepting the first 36 forwards, 24 defenders and 8 goalies to participate in the U18 Festival. Notifications are sent via the contact information from players who participated as sophomores last year in the MN Hockey HP 17 selection process and from nominations from their respective high school coach.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE U18 FESTIVAL?

From the 68 players who participate in the U18 Festival, 20 players will be selected to participate on the Team Minnesota U18 team that will play in the MN Hockey/CCM High School National Invitational Tournament to be held on April 19-22, 2018 at the Vadnais Sports Center in Vadnais Heights, MN. All participants will receive a team jersey, socks and jacket. A team of high school coaches will be on hand all weekend evaluating players for selection to the NIT Minnesota U18 team.

WHO CAN REGISTER?

  1. You must be playing high school hockey in Minnesota AND
  2. You must be a Junior in high school AND
  3. You were born in the year 2000.

If you meet all three of those qualifications, you are eligible to register for the U18 Festival. It is NOT required that you participated in the HP17 program the previous season as a sophomore.

If you are eligible for this event, register soon as spots are very limited. Contact Tim Morris at morrisgang@msn.com for info regarding this event.
