Hadler opened the scoring with a goal 9 minutes, 14 seconds into the game on assists from Heise and Kayla Oberding. Heise, along with Reagan Haley, also assisted on Schammel’s power-play goal at 15:17. Heise added her own extra-man goal 30 seconds later on feeds from Hailee Johnson and Caitie Turcotte.
The Warriors scored their only goal at 6:46 of the second period when Demi Cooper got the puck past Red Wing goaltender Anna Vagasky. The Wingers eventually responded when Schammel got her second goal at 15:45 on an assist from Turcotte.
Red Wing closed out the game much the way it started, scoring two goals while allowing just three shots. Johnson got in the goal column at 1:08, a power-play tally from Turcotte and Hadler. Emily Stegora closed the books at 14:12 on helpers from Maddy Hardyman and Oberding.
Vagasky made 14 saves to earn the victory, facing 11 of those shots in the second period.
The Wingers (15-6-0) face Farmington (10-10-1) Thursday at Prairie Island Arena. Red Wing will close the regular season with three games in six days starting with a visit to Owatonna (11-6-0) Jan. 28, followed by a trip to Northfield (8-14-0) Jan. 30. Red Wing’s final regular season game will be at home against Tartan (9-9-0) Feb. 3.
